China raises import requirements

At present, Vietnamese fruits exported to the China market need to meet Chinese regulations on food raw material safety, plant inspection, and quarantine, registration of names with Chinese customs and planting area numbers. The importing unit needs to indicate the source of the product, and the product must meet the requirements for packaging and sanitary conditions.

In addition, China requires that food exports to China from October 1, 2019, be required to hold food safety certificates issued by the relevant authorities of the exporting country for export products. For other agricultural products and aquatic products, China will also strictly check its quality.

Wu Bofu, director of the Trade Promotion Bureau of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam, said that China’s strict quality requirements for products will help Vietnamese companies to handle the current status of border trade exports, thereby reducing risks, reducing dependence on the market and reducing the pressure on the market and the disaster. .

In order to help enterprises effectively develop the Chinese market, the relevant Vietnamese authorities are actively negotiating with the relevant Chinese authorities and supplementing the way of exporting normal trade. According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Vietnam, China is still the largest export market for Vietnamese agricultural products in the first quarter of this year. However, exports fell by 12.7% year-on-year. Vietnam’s exports of fruits and vegetables to China reached 680 million U.S. dollars, down 6.4% year-on-year.
