China's rubber emulsion exports have increased significantly

During the past four and a half years, China’s rubber emulsion exports have continued to increase significantly, indicating that China is the world’s second-largest producer of natural rubber.

Sudi Mardianto, director of the Center for Social, Economic and Agricultural Policy of the Ministry of Agriculture, said in Jakarta: “According to the statistics of the Central Bureau of Statistics, the export volume of rubber emulsions in China from 2014 to 2018 increased by about 3,200 tons. 70% became 5,300 tons.”

He believes that the increase in rubber exports in China is the result of efforts by rubber farmers to continue to maintain quality in this direction, so that rubber production can break through the world market, such as the transaction volume with India reached 5.4 million US dollars or 27.23% of total rubber emulsion exports. %.

“In addition, China’s rubber exports to Vietnam totaled US$12.9 million. We also exported rubber products to China for a total of US$8.3 million and then exported rubber to Singapore totaling US$3.3 million and exports to Bangladesh to 250. Ten thousand dollars,” he said.

He explained that the rubber export transaction volume jumped from $37 million to $56.6 million, up about 53%. “The substantial increase in rubber exports is also due to the Ministry of Agriculture’s reduction of many export regulations and the simplification of the licensing process and the implementation of new plans,” he said.

In fact, China’s rubber emulsions continue to show competitive prices in domestic or international markets. With the plan of the Ministry of Agriculture to implement the revitalization of private rubber plantations through the BUN500 program, it is expected that the production and quality of rubber emulsions will increase in the future.

In order for farmers to enjoy the benefits of rubber emulsions, we must also increase the added value.

“One of the steps we recommend is to invite investors to develop rubber processing in private plantation centers. This step will be carried out through a corporate approach, so that rubber farmers can get more benefits from processing rubber emulsion processed products,” he further said.
