According to the Russian satellite network reported on February 15, due to the shortage of railway wheels in the country, Russian railway vehicle manufacturers intend to purchase railway wheels from China.
According to the plan, two factories in China will be certified, and then Russia will purchase 800,000 wheels in three years.
Russian experts are currently testing wheel samples. If the results are qualified, the first batch of wheels produced in China can enter the Russian market in April.
According to reports, Russia’s wheel shortage has arisen as the Eurasian Economic Union has increased anti-dumping tariffs on Ukrainian production wheels. Since March 2018, tariffs have increased sixfold to 34.22%.
