South Asia Aquatic Products Processing Export Association (VASEP) said that some Vietnamese aquatic products export to China showed a recovery growth momentum.
In the first half of March 2020, Vietnam ’s fish-export to China reached US $ 13 million, an increase of US $ 1 million from the previous month.
In early April, Vietnam’s aquatic products, especially shrimp and fish inspection orders increased. It is expected that Vietnam’s fish-export to China will increase by 40% -50% in the coming months.
Vietnam Aquatic Products Export Association said that at present, China and South Korea have achieved remarkable results in the control of the new coronary pneumonia epidemic. Therefore, as production activities resume, demand for aquatic products, especially shrimp products, will improve.
If Vietnam can control the new coronary pneumonia epidemic in the second quarter of 2020, and production and export activities will return to normal in the third and fourth quarters, this will be the golden period of Vietnam’s agricultural and aquatic products, especially the export volume and export value of aquatic products.
