Nepal imported more than one million mobile phones from China in the first quarter of this fiscal year

According to data released by Nepal Customs recently, in the first quarter of the 2018/19 fiscal year, Nepal imported about 1.173 million mobile phones from China.

Data show that from July 16 to October 15, 2018, Nepal imported mobile phones worth 5.26 billion rupees (about 46.39 million US dollars) from China, accounting for 9.9% of the total amount of goods imported from China.

Local dealers said that Chinese mobile phone brands such as Huawei, Xiaomi, OPPO, Lenovo and VIVO have performed well in the Nigerian market.

The data also showed that during the same period, India and Vietnam occupied the second and third respectively imported mobile phones from Nepal, and exported about 115,000 mobile phones and 74,000 to Nepal respectively.
