Turkey’s CSK Mining Company, a local bauxite producer, plans to export about 100,000 tons of bauxite to China in October, according to a source in the company.
“We plan to use large ships to export about 100,000 tons of bauxite to China next month,” the source said. They have previously exported bauxite to Europe for cement production, and now plan to export ore to China through the Turkish port of Iskenderun.
The company has two mining areas in Turkey with reserves of 5 million tons and 30 million tons respectively, and has six years of experience in bauxite mining.
At present, its annual production capacity of bauxite is 700,000 tons, and the output in August is about 50,000 tons. It is expected to be stable in September. The existing inventory is about 80,000 tons.
Its bauxite output was about 500,000 tons in 2019, and about 400,000 tons so far this year. It mainly supplies bauxite Al2O3 56%min SiO2 5%max, which is suitable for alumina dissolution at around 200°C.
At present, Turkish bauxite Al2O3 53%min SiO2 7%max China CIF price is stable at 46-47 US dollars/ton. The supply of domestic bauxite continued to be tight in September, and China’s demand for Turkish bauxite is expected to increase in the fourth quarter.
