US imports from Mexico exceeded China for the first time

The total amount of US imports from Mexico exceeded the imports from China for the first time in March this year. According to data released by the Census Bureau, in March, US imports of goods from Mexico reached $31.3 billion, while imports from China were only $31.1 billion.

This situation was hard to imagine last year. In 2018, the amount of US imports from China was much higher than that imported from Mexico. The lowest month of US imports from China is also $38 billion, while the highest monthly imports from Mexico are only $31 billion.

The impact of the US-China trade war on trade between the two countries has already emerged. Since the beginning of this year, the amount of US imports from China has dropped significantly. The import value in February was only 33 billion US dollars. Industry analysis, the trade war has led many foreign companies to move the industry chain out of China.
